CORPUS CHRISTI — Salon Palomo for the next two weeks is donating all of its hair clippings to help oil spill relief efforts in the Gulf of Mexico.
The locally owned beauty salon recently joined San Francisco-based Matter of Trust Foundation, which has coordinated with warehouses around the country to collect hair. The hair is stuffed in tubes of women's hosiery, creating booms that soak up oil, the charity says.
Salon Palomo hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. For more information, call 855-8841.
